CHEESE TASTING IN GOUDA | Day trip from Amsterdam

We’ve made it to The Netherlands! In today’s video, we take a day trip from Amsterdam by train to the charming town of Gouda! As you may have guessed, Gouda is where the cheese comes from (pronounced “HOW-da”) and there is no shortage of delicious cheese to try during your time here.

Gouda really exceeded our expectations and we highly recommend taking a day trip from Amsterdam to Gouda. We could spend all day walking around nibbling on new varieties of its namesake cheese. During our visit, we checked off the best Gouda tourist attractions including cheese tasting at local cheese shops, visiting the beautiful Sint Janskerk gothic church, and checking out the gorgeous Gouda City Hall. One thing we missed was Gouda’s famous cheese market, which only occurs between April and August. Oh well, all the more reason to visit Gouda again!

A day trip from Amsterdam is a great way to stretch your time in the Netherlands into more authentic Dutch adventures. Some of the best day trips from Amsterdam are Utrecht (which we briefly visit!), Rottenburg, Delft and Kinderdike! Day trips are as easy as hopping on the train.
