Akwasi Frimpong Crosses Finish Line, Cum Laude

The journey that began 4 1/2 years ago at Utah Valley University (UVU) for Akwasi Frimpong has come to an end as he graduates today (April 26,2013) with honors (cum laude). Frimpong has now earned a bachelor's degree in marketing with a minor in business management. During Frimpong's athletic and academic career at UVU, he led a double life as both a business student and member of the Dutch national bobsledding team. Frimpong was originally a track and field star for the Netherlands, but after a tryout in 2012 coaches recognized his potential to crossover into bobsledding.

"Working hard as an athlete has definitely transitioned into life as a student," said Frimpong. "Life is about pushing to the next level and being patient."

According to Frimpong, now that he is finished with his degree from UVU, he is looking forward to a career in business and marketing in combination with his career as an athlete. Frimpong has a good chance in making it to the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia, as a brakeman for the Dutch national bobsledding team. Source: www.akwasi-frimpong.com
