Submarine Massachusetts launches

The nation's newest attack submarine is launched into the James River for the very first time and it was an incredible sight to see. New video shows HII Newport News Shipbuilding personnel transferring the Navy's Virginia class sub-Massachusetts from a construction facility to a floating dry dock. The drydock was flooded, and then the Massachusetts was submerged. It was then moved by tugboats to a submarine pier at the shipyard for final outfitting, testing and crew certification. The Massachusetts was christened last May.
