Columbia River Treaty Information Session: Exploring Ecosystem Improvements, June 15 2022
The Province of B.C. hosted a virtual information session on the Columbia River Treaty, titled ‘Exploring Ecosystems Improvements through the Columbia River Treaty’ on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at 6 pm PT/ 7 pm MT.
This session featured an overview of Indigenous-led research and assessments underway to determine how reservoir and river operations might be modified to improve aquatic and riparian ecosystems in the B.C. portion of the Columbia Basin. Presentations focused on three specific areas:
1. Operations to restore floodplain, riparian and wetland ecosystems;
2. Operations to restore natural river functions; and
3. Operations to assist in restoring anadromous salmon.
