Portland Schoonerfest and Regatta

Sailing Ships Maine organizes and participates in a wide range of events to raise funds to further its mission of providing life-changing opportunities for teens to pursue experiential learning at sea. Sailing Ships Maine events range from large public events to small private ones and dockside events to on-water ones. One of them is Portland Schoonerfest and Regatta–Portland's own spring regatta for traditional sail in Portland, Maine. The event kicks off the summer sailing season on the solstice weekend of June annually. It features large, traditional schooners racing and parading under sail together in Portland Harbor with passengers participating onboard and viewing from shore.
