CJ McMahon rejoins Thy Art Is Murder, hates deathcore tag, sells windbreaker | Aggressive Tendencies

CJ McMahon of Thy Art Is Murder explains the growth of their songwriting from 'Hate' to 'Holy War' to 'Dear Desolation' origin of "No Absolution" (as well as why it was a stressful time for him), being referred to as a deathcore band, how listening to different genres (pop, classical, rap, trap, electronic, dance, etc.) impacts their own music, and why he would never think to sell his legendary North Face windbreaker. Interview conducted in Toronto on September 16th, 2017.
