INTERVIEW: Prof Vincent Gaffney | Archaeology, technology, Doggerland, The Stonehenge Shafts

Professor Vince Gaffney MBE is one of those names that comes up often in the archaeological headlines as more and more research depends upon the data retrieved from magnetometry, radar, LIDAR and similar sensing techniques. Most recently, (and famously) his team on the Stonehenge Hidden Landscapes Project were responsible for the discovery of an amazing, enormous ring of massive pits surrounding Durrington Walls henge.
Here, we talk of his beginnings, his work in Croatia and the Adriatic, Wroxeter Roman City, the Mesolithic pit alignment of Warren Fields, remote sensing in general, Doggerland - and of course, those pits!
