This Shipping Container Duplex in Old Fourth Ward Atlanta, Georgia. is a modern three story stack of shipping containers configured as a duplex units in two identical blocks. Each block is made out of six 40 foot high cube shipping containers, creating a total of 1920 square feet of habitable space. The containers were modified and painted off-site then transported to site and then craned onto the concrete foundation. Each block of containers sits on a concrete foundation to elevate the containers away from moisture and also serves as the basement of the house with a 2 car garage each. The first block is a three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath home built in 2007. The second block was built a few years later as a duplex with two kitchens and two bedrooms with a staircase to allow subletting part of unit.
