HOME Builders Buyers’ Guide is grateful to Mr. Reniel Barroso for the time and effort he exerted in sharing some of his work experiences along with some insights on the construction industry.

Mr. Barroso is a graduate of Mechanical Engineering with specializations on HVAC System and Build Environment (Plumbing, Drainage Design, Sustainable Design and Green Buildings). He’s also a Certified Energy Manager.

Having worked in the Philippines and abroad, Mr. Barroso believes that engineering is the same everywhere. The only difference is the different nationalities and cultures, and various styles of work that he’s dealing with. Differences also come from the different building codes.

To last in the business, Mr. Barroso has imparted to stick with the fundamentals and basics of engineering and that assumptions should be within the range of reality.
He also shared that as an engineer, it’s very important to understand what the client wants and to put oneself in their shoes for that is the only way to get the project right.

As his final word, Mr. Barroso gave some great pieces of advice to aspiring engineers. Thinking out of the box is one - don’t be stuck with the conventional and be open to technology. Secondly, one must have the passion in what they do. Knowing every detail of the project is a must for this will lead to a more fruitful output. Finally, it’s very important to communicate with people – whether clients, executives, or CEOs. With good communication comes better professional relationships and greater results.
