Last week's rioting in the Capitol building left many questioning the strength of democracy in the U.S.
President Donald Trump has now pledged an orderly transfer of power but one can hardly find order in his legacy.
Throughout his term, Trump has been intent on reshaping American government and refocusing its foreign policy in an unprecedented manner. With just 8 days until president-elect Joe Biden is sworn in, the whole world is watching which direction the U.S. goes next. What does the uncertain process mean for the rest of the world? For answers, Tian Wei talked to Mr. Kishore Mahbubani, distinguished fellow of the Asia Research Institute at the National University of Singapore.
Mr. Mahbubani was Singapore's former permanent representative to the United Nations, and has served as president of the UN Security Council from 2001 to 2002. His recent book 'Has China Won?' states that the geopolitical contest of the 21st century is between China and the U.S. Is it true?
