Pruning Tomatoes - A Necessary Evil
This presentation will focus on the justifications for pruning tomatoes for optimal plant health and fruit production. Different approaches to pruning decisions will be shown based on specific growth habits (indeterminate vs. determinate), cultivars, growing conditions, trellising methods, and the unique challenges of growing tomatoes in North Texas.
David is currently the Learning Lab manager and an Adjunct Faculty member for the Horticulture Program at Tarrant County College (TCC). He has been at TCC for five years. David has worked in Texas Agriculture for 20 years in diverse fields including Organic Farming, Landscape Irrigation, Landscape Horticulture, Urban Farming/Community Gardening, Prairie Restoration, and Sustainable Ag Training and Education.
