Impossible Loves [Cesare + Lucrezia]

While stuck in bed with the flu over the week of Thanksgiving I started watching The Borgias as Netflix suggested I would like it (I love medieval based shows, well period pieces of any time in history really) and I became obsessed with the show. From the writing to the set design, storyline, costumes and perfectly timed dialog I was hooked 10 min into episode one. And of course like so many other fans of the show I became enraptured with the tragic and tempting relationship between Cesare and Lucrezia. Yes, they are brother and sister and no, I do not promote incest but in this very rare instance I guess I will have to say I do.

Their connection and bond with one another is extraordinary and as a viewer we are introduced to this palpable sexual tension from the first moment we see their characters on screen. Cesare and Lucrezia are the only two people who understand one another in their crazy and power driven world. And the fact that Cesare is the only man to always defend and protect Lucrezia gives her a sense of safety and devotion that she finds in no one else. They are devoted to one another and in a different world they would destined for one another.

It's a delicately told story and while I know it is a fictional story I think it was such an interesting storyline to explore. Wishing there was a season 4 to go along with the amazing and talented work that went into the show, but the ending to the series, WOW exactly how you want a show to end. Now everyone go watch it and you'll start shipping incest too. haha but maybe only for this show.
