Notre Père - The Lord's Prayer
A LIRE : INTERPRETATION UNIQUE --- ENGLISH TEXT AFTER
En septembre 2009, à l’initiative de la station WNET (membre du réseau de télévision publique à but non lucratif) en vue d’une émission de Noël, le « Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra » de Salt Lake City a invité le ténor Andrea Bocelli à chanter le « Notre Père » (en anglais « The Lord’s Prayer »). Ce chant est quasi inconnu en dehors du monde anglo-saxon, plus spécialement les USA. Il a été composé par Albert Hay Malotte en 1935 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albert_Hay_Malotte) et a été repris par de nombreux chanteurs et chanteuses. Pour cette interprétation, trois choses sont à remarquer :
1 l’arrangement pour chœur et orchestre est magnifique, il a été effectué par David Foster (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Foster) qui le destinait à l’album de Noël d’Andrea Bocelli. On remarquera l’équilibre des parties : tant l’orchestre que le chœur (de 360 membres), le soliste et l’orgue se répondent sans jamais se couvrir. Superbe : c’est pour cela que je l’ai mis sur le site.
2 l’arrangeur (David Foster) tient la partie d’orgue. Cet instrument (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salt_Lake_Tabernacle_organ) est superbe avec ses 11.623 tuyaux et sa console de cinq clavier et un pédalier : il est un des plus réputés des USA (de même que le chœur du Temple Mormon).

In September 2009, on the initiative of station WNET (member of the network of public television with nonlucrative goal) for an emission of Christmas, the “Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra” of Salt Lake City invited the tenor Andrea Bocelli to sing to it “The Lord' S Prayer”. This song is quasi unknown apart from the Anglo-Saxon world, more especially the USA. It was composed by Albert Hay Malotte in 1935 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albert_Hay_Malotte) and was taken again by many singers and singers. For this interpretation, three things are to be noticed:
1 arrangement for chorus and orchestra is splendid, it was carried out by David Foster (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Foster) which intended it for the album of Christmas of Andrea Bocelli. The balance of the parts will be noticed: as well the orchestra as the chorus (of 360 members), the soloist and the organ are answered without never being covered. Superb: therefore I put it on the site.
2 the arranger (David Foster) holds the part of organ. This instrument (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salt_Lake_Tabernacle_organ) is superb with its 11.623 pipes and its console of five keyboard and pedals: it is one of most famous the USA (just as the chorus of the Mormon Temple).
