Xbox One Analog Joystick Drift Fix

This video shows the only sure way of fixing an analog joystick drift issue. Not an easy repair but certainly not impossible.

The low melt solder I used in this video likely isn't required and you need to be careful with it since it makes removing SMD components almost too easy but it can help.

The tool I probably couldn't have removed the joystick without is the Rotary Tool. The more pieces you can cut the metal casing into the better. I've also use this to facilitate removing HDMI ports with large casings and 19 tiny pins.

Another comment pointed out that the new Xbox One controllers like this one have much smaller through-holes and more board layers. Making it almost impossible to properly remove the solder resulting in having to pull the parts through rather than desoldering them. Once the pins are out, you can use a solder wick to clear the holes.

What ever you do get you need a T8 and T10, T9 can substitute for both. For controllers you need a T6 and T8.
