Distance: The total path length covered. It's a scalar quantity
Displacement:The shortest straight-line distance between the starting and ending points.

Uniform motion occurs when an object covers equal distances in equal intervals of time. Think of a car cruising at a constant speed on a straight road
Non-uniform motion happens when an object covers unequal distances in equal intervals of time.
