India has once again remained in the spotlight with several important developments related to sports, science, technology, governance, and infrastructure. In a major sporting achievement, India delivered a remarkable performance at the Under-23 Asian Wrestling Championship by winning a total of 27 medals, including 11 gold medals. The Indian freestyle wrestling team defeated strong nations like Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan to secure the team championship title. Indian women wrestlers also impressed with six gold medals, highlighting India’s growing dominance in international wrestling competitions.

In another major development, Indian Railways approved the country’s first 10-coach hydrogen-powered train for operation on the Jind-Sonipat rail route in Haryana. Based on Distributed Power Rail System (DPRS) technology, this eco-friendly train represents an important step toward clean energy transportation and green railway infrastructure in India. The hydrogen-powered DEMU project is expected to strengthen sustainable and modern transport systems in the country.

The Union Government also approved the “Sarthak PDS” scheme to modernize India’s Public Distribution System using Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Blockchain, and Natural Language Processing technologies. The scheme aims to improve transparency, reduce leakage, strengthen food security, and ensure efficient delivery of benefits under the National Food Security Act.

India’s scientific community also achieved a milestone with the discovery of a new evergreen tree species named “Humboldtia nairiana” in the Western Ghats of Kerala. The species was discovered in the Agasthyamala Biosphere Reserve and has been recognized as an important addition to biodiversity conservation studies.

Meanwhile, NASA announced three ambitious Moon Base Missions aimed at establishing a permanent lunar base. These missions will focus on lunar rovers, drone-based outposts, and studies related to lunar swirls and Moon surface conditions. The announcement reflects growing global competition in space exploration and advanced technology.

India also achieved success in shooting and para-athletics. Young shooter Esha Singh won a gold medal with a world record score in the ISSF World Cup, while Paralympic champion Sumit Antil broke his own world record in javelin throw during the Indian Open International Para Athletics Championship in Bengaluru.
