This was a request from one of my consistent supporters and I'm more than happy to do it. It's so sad that we lost Tony Last Year. I didn't know this song before it was requested, but I really like it. The bass part isn't too creative, but I really enjoy the different "fills" from one chord to the next that Tony does in the recording. It's very satisfying musically and is a great sample of ways to create interest moving from chord to chord if you wanted to study that sort of thing (or write your own music), especially since he does it a few different ways throughout the song. I also enjoy in the live shows, he'd start the song by using the bit of the chorus after talking and saying something along the lines of being here is my paradise. I really enjoy when an artist brings the lyrics of their songs into talking with the crowd. I think it shows that they know and appreciate their music and then the crowd can get a glimpse of joy from being able to guess the song based on what they say beforehand. Maybe that's the KISS fan in me talking, but I hope I'm not the only one.

As far as tabbing goes, The hardest part was the rhythm of the bass. It is mostly just 8th notes, but there's some subtlety in there that's more than 8th notes on the root of the chord progression, but not too much. It'd probably sound perfectly fine to play just 8th notes the whole time. In fact, in the recent live videos of Tony playing this, he takes out a lot of the tiny details and does just straight 8th notes. It makes sense since he's singing and playing. All the videos show a pick, except the music video shows fingers. I don't trust that for a second, because they didn't look right, but also it's pretty common for them to fake using fingers in the music video (like gene on I was made for lovin' you, and a few others).

good shot of him. He's doing mostly 8ths, without much variation. The album version has more on it. He also does in the verses at the end of the 4th and 8th bar 33-3 (16ths and then an 8th). Not much help, but good to know that live, even Tony does the root of the chord with maybe a walk between them. You can also see some of the bridge.
