Follow these steps if you want to fail:
1. Pick the wrong supervisor.
2. Avoid and ignore your supervisor.
3. Don't treat your PhD like a job.
4. Wait for people to tell you what to do.
5. Leave all your writing until the end.
6. Take feedback personally and aim for perfection.
7. Don't plan to take any time off.
8. Aim too high or aim too low.
9. Forget to discuss potential examiners with your supervisor.
