[6/7] #SketchUp for #SteelFabrication: 2D #PDF Layout

This video outlines the process of creating 2D drawings from a SketchUp model using the Layout application.

The workflow includes the following steps:
1) Initial Setup: After opening Layout, select a template, such as a title block template. You may choose not to import a point cloud if it is already present in the SketchUp model and not desired for the 2D PDF output.
2) Viewport Management: Layout opens a viewport displaying the view previously shown in SketchUp. You can adjust this viewport to show specific scenes created in SketchUp, such as a side parallel scene.
3) Adding Dimensions: Using the dimension tool, you can create measurements based on real-world data from the point cloud that was modeled in SketchUp. Ensure the appropriate units and precision settings are configured for your dimensions.
4) Creating Multiple Views: You can display various views—such as plan, profile, or elevation views—on the same page. Viewports can be resized, scaled, or duplicated by holding the control key and moving them. Once duplicated, you can change the view to a different SketchUp scene, such as a top view.
5) Customization: The title block feature allows for the importation of custom title blocks to display specific company or drawing information.
