in Hiragana(and Katakana) :- テレビ を みる
in Roma-ji :- telebi wo miru
English translation: to watch TV
* テレビ= TV(television)
"テレビ" is written in katakana as it's an imported word from the foreign countries.
*を=particle ”を”
Particle "を" is placed after the object of a verb. The object of the verb is always a noun or pronoun.
*見(み)る=to watch, to see, to look
Group2 verb plain present form
(Conjugations: 見ます/見ません/見る/見ない/見ました/見ませんでした/見た/見なかった/見て/見れば/見よう)
*There are a lot of "みる/みます" in Japanese. Those sound are same but used different kanji and meanings are also different. Below are some of them. ↓
み(見)る=to see, to watch, to look
み(観)る=to watch, to see (a paintings in a museum or watching a play in a theater etc.)
み(診)る=to examine (medically by a medical doctor, etc.)
み(看)る=to look after (often medically by a nurse or carer. etc.)
?? So, what is the difference between テレビを見る and テレビを観る?
テレビを見る is seeing the TV or watching TV but not so intensively.
テレビを観る is watching TV (or a movie on the TV) with attention.
