Awesome Skeleton Key Find Turns Into a Big Metal Detecting Disappointment + Creepiest Find This Year

This week I found a lot in the woods with my Garrett AT Pro metal detector, but one of my best metal detecting finds turns out to be a con. For a couple of seconds I'm really happy about what I've found, and then I realize it's not what it seems and it's a big let down. What a bummer, but that's what this hobby is all about - the highs and lows.

I do make some really good finds though - a 100 + year old silver coin, an Indian head cent and some other cool old artifacts, so it's not all that bad. In fact, it's a pretty strong hunt altogether with a lot of variety and I was happy with what I carried out of those woods that (long) day.
