Audi's Walter Röhrl: The Individualist

Many experts consider Walter Röhrl, the 1980 and 1982 world champion, to simply be the best rally driver of all times. The "lanky" racing driver was born in Regensburg, Germany, in 1947, and was a consistently precise driver – never spectacular, but always efficient. The charismatic individualist joined Audi in 1984. Together with co-driver Christian Geistdörfer, he celebrated two huge wins at Monte Carlo and San Remo. Röhrl drove in numerous circuit track races for the brand until 1992.
