Kate Hewlett Played Her Brother's On-Screen Sister (Dial the Gate)

Actress KATE HEWLETT brought something magical to STARGATE ATLANTIS when her character Jeannie debuted in the third-season episode "McKay and Mrs. Miller." She played (Meredith) Rodney McKay's sister from Earth, herself a brilliant scientific mind who had chosen another path in life. But Jeannie was to be played, in fact, by actor David Hewlett's real-life sister.

In this conversation with "Dial the Gate," Kate tells the story of how her casting came to be. She also talks about working with David and with Amanda Tapping on the show ... and tells us a nice, embarrassing story about her brother.
