There is a place
Far to the East
Where sunrises
And sunsets
Still burn bright
For long forgotten kings.

A warring king
Took a peaceful land,
Was touched by their ways,
And made his demands.

He learned their trades
And took their king
To teach him the art
Of inner peace.

A lifetime of labor,
A labor of love,
A king with a mission,
For the payas
He dreamed of.

A city, a people
A culture transformed
From scrolls of Thaton
The land was reborn.

Feel your heart beating
With the rhythm of the land
Feel your soul rising
Like the ebb and flow
Of the mighty Irrawaddy.

Stand tall with kings.
Walk with the wise.
Uncover the majesty.

Two millennia of history
Raw and exposed.
Untouched lands-
This is Bagan.
