How to Knit Self Striping Socks [part one]

Please note this tutorial is NOT suited for beginners to knitting. This sock tutorial is best suited to people who are experienced at the knit stitch and the purl stitch. Previous experience of knitting in the round on double pointed needles [or circular needles] would also be an advantage.

This tutorial is part one of a series showing how to knit a self striping sock. They were separated to keep the video from getting too long and also because certain sections might be easier for some people, so you can choose an area you are struggling with to watch for guidance, whilst skipping the parts you may not need as much.

If you are new to knitting, please practice the basics of casting on, knit and purl stitch (and knitting in the round) before attempting this pattenr, to avoid frustration/disappointment.
