Adelaide Yost has von Willebrand Disease, a bleeding disorder caused by low levels of clotting protein in the blood. Her mom, Katie, also has the disease. When Adelaide was 5, she had three spontaneous bleeds and received blood transfusions that helped save her life. Thanks to generous blood donors – and our innovative research – Adelaide can now look forward to a bright future. “That experience allowed me to reflect on how fortunate we were to have the resources available to treat our daughter,” says Katie.
