Temperature, heart rate and blood pressure while smoking a cigarette

While smoking a cigarette temperature, blood pressure and pulse change. Here, the heart rate increased by about 20%, the temperature on the hand dropped by about one degree and the blood pressure increased. The drop in temperature and the increase in blood pressure are due to the contraction of the blood vessles which are well known facts and have been first documented over 100 years ago (Bruce, 1909).
