The girls in the Home of the Mother called her “Cieli.” They began calling her that because her sister said that her eyes were “from heaven” (Cielo in Spanish). Her heart belonged to God and to Our Lady.

On April 16th, 2016, there was a strong earthquake in Manabí (Ecuador), where there is a community of Servant Sisters of the Home of the Mother. The house collapsed completely, causing the death of a professed sister, Sr. Clare Crockett and five young women who were in their first steps of formation as Servant Sisters: Jazmina, Mayra, Maria Augusta, Valeria and Catalina.
