The future of employment with Joseph Stiglitz, Laureate in Economic Sciences 2001
This interview and conversation was part of Nobel Prize Dialogue Pretoria 2021: The Future of Work.
The Nobel Prize Dialogue centred on three broad themes: the role of education and training, and how it is adapting to suit changing needs and patterns of work; our relationship with industry and employers and how the nature of employment will change; and the social and environmental impact of work. A fourth topic, the impact of technology, is now central to almost every aspect of our lives and will naturally form a cross-cutting theme, influencing all the discussions throughout the day.
The Nobel Prize Dialogue aims to bring science and society closer and stimulate creative thinking by gathering together a unique constellation of Nobel Laureates, key opinion leaders, policy makers, students, researchers and the general public.
