Farmers in Manipur have been suffering untold misery due to the climate change which has affected the rainfall pattern and the problem of lack of proper agricultural land irrigation system. Their woes mounted as they continue with the practice of old traditional method of farming despite the change in rainfall patterns witnessed in recent years. Experts provide suggestion as most of the paddy fields were found barren and dried up during a field visit by the IFP.
