Debunking the MYTH of Women in Games

Lately, the myth that Women compose 50% of the gaming audience has been circulating with new champions. The idea that Assassins Creed should have a female only protagonist is fine, on its face... but these champions, and their supporters, have missed the reality where genre breakdowns matter a great deal.

The concept that Ubisoft (or any Triple A Gaming Publisher for that matter) "marketing to men" is somehow alienating 50% of their audience when the reality of audience demographics is what it is for specific genres... cannot be called anything other than what it really is. A Myth.
