Carlo Rovelli: The Nature and Evolution of Black Holes

Dr. Rovelli is a theoretical physicist and author who specializes in the field of quantum gravity. His main contribution to the field of theoretical physics and the reason for why he is known worldwide is his role as one of the founders of the theory of loop quantum gravity. This theory attempts to merge quantum mechanics and general relativity, and proposes that space and time are quantized as energy and momentum are quantized in quantum mechanics. He has worked on the history and philosophy of science and has written many popular science books. Particularly, "Seven Brief Lessons on Physics" has become an international bestseller with translations into 41 languages. Dr. Rovelli has won numerous awards for his scientific achievements and for the public advancement of science. He is a member of Institut Universitaire de France and the International Academy of the Philosophy of Science. The full title of the talk was "The Nature and Evolution of Black Holes: Implications and Observational Tests from Loop Quantum Gravity".
