Al Capone was an infamous American gangster who rose to power during the Prohibition era of the 1920s and 1930s. He was born on January 17, 1899, in Brooklyn, New York, and grew up in a rough neighborhood where he became involved in street gangs.

Capone eventually moved to Chicago, where he became involved in organized crime and rose to become the leader of the notorious Chicago Outfit. He gained notoriety for his involvement in bootlegging, gambling, and prostitution, and was also believed to have been responsible for numerous acts of violence, including murder.

Capone was famously brought down by law enforcement through his conviction for tax evasion in 1931, and he served seven years in prison. After his release, he lived out the rest of his life in relative obscurity before dying of a heart attack on January 25, 1947, at the age of 48. Despite his criminal activities, Capone remains a popular figure in American popular culture and is often portrayed in movies, television shows, and other forms of media.
