Isle of Skye | Photographing Sunrise to Sunset | Isle of Skye Scotland | Geoff Moore Photography

This is a small Audio & Visual presentation of a single day photographing various locations on the Isle of Skye.

Photographing Sunrise at the Cullins, braving harsh winter snow storms at the frozen Loch nan Eilean to very windy sunset at Neist Point lighthouse this small video shows some of the locations I visited and photographed on my first visit to the Isle of Skye in Feb 2019 - I hope you enjoy.
MORNING SUNRISE:
Fire & Ice: 01:04
Track leading to Alltdearg House under the Cullin Mountains at Sunrise. Whispers of snow clouds are set alight by the morning sun as it rises above the horizon.

Dawning of Days: 01:21
The moment before dawn when the never-light catches the cullin mountains. The Cuillin is a range of rocky mountains located on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. The main Cuillin ridge is also known as the Black Cuillin to distinguish it from the Red Cuillin, which lie to the east of Glen Sligachan.

The Lochen of the Snowy Glen: 01:59
Cold and bitter winter snow storms pass through the glen freezing the icy waters of Loch nan Eilean and me the photographer

AFTERNOON:
The Old Boat: 03:00
Ye Old Boat: 03:17

Faoleann an Train (Derelict Boats )
One of the old disused and cast aside fishing boats that make up the boat graveyard near Carbost, Loch Harport

EVENING SUNSET:
Neist Point Lighthouse: 04:14
Neist Point View: 04:36

Neist Point Lighthouse and Cliff Top View
Windy conditions, broken clouds and strong directional sunlight suggested that the sunset would be spectacular, it wasn't to be.

Neist Point is one of the most famous lighthouses in Scotland and can be found on the most westerly tip of Skye near the township of Glendale

Neist Point Lighthouse, designed by David Alan Stevenson, was first lit on 1 November 1909. An aerial cableway is used to take supplies to the lighthouse and cottages. Since 1990, the lighthouse has been operated remotely from the Northern Lighthouse Board headquarters in Edinburgh.
