Measles Cases Rise in the U.S. Over the Past Week

The number of confirmed measles cases in the United States has risen to 800, marking an increase of 88 new cases in just one week.
The outbreak has now spread across 24 states, with the epicenter in Texas, where 597 cases have been reported—an increase of 36 since last week.

Tragically, 2 deaths have been confirmed as a result of the outbreak.

The most affected age groups include:

Adolescents aged 5–19 years with 304 cases, and

Young children under the age of 5, accounting for 249 cases.

Public health officials continue to monitor the situation closely and urge parents to ensure their children are vaccinated according to the recommended immunization schedule.
