Where the HOPE Dies

As i was sitting in this hospital…my minds attempts to race with what if’s. I continue to read through Jeremiah and I come across…

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭29‬:‭11‬ ‭NIV‬‬

It is not a coincidence that I’ve been in Jeremiah and I’ve gotten to this chapter on this day! Just like the Israelites were facing some tough situations ahead…God reassured them before they even stepped foot into it…that He had them.

“Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity…””
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭29‬:‭12‬-‭14‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“And it takes on greater significance when it’s seen in the context of exile with no apparent hope (29:11).

Notice, though, that this promise was conditioned on God’s people seeking him in a new way: You will . . . find me when you search for me with all your heart (29:13).”
