Background: CATL has been Nio's primary battery supplier since the company's founding in 2014 . While Nio recently introduced other suppliers like BYD and CALB to diversify, it appears to be consolidating back to CATL .
Current Supply Details:

Onvo (Ledao): Nio has reportedly ended a battery supply agreement with BYD's FinDreams for the Onvo L60 SUV. CATL will now supply the 85-kWh batteries for this model .

Nio Brand: CATL is now confirmed as the supplier for the 100-kWh batteries, a role previously shared with CALB .

Official Partnership: This increased cooperation is formalized. In January 2026, Nio and CATL signed a five-year strategic agreement to jointly develop long-life batteries and expand the battery swap network .
