Her first INTERVAL session of the SPEED block (specificity)
After Mary's 5km baseline test at the weekend she's gone out and completed her first interval session of the speed block. Specificity is absolutely key here and, because we also have a marathon and half marathon to plan for, it might not look like a speed session you'd expect. This session can be adapted to suit you and your own needs but remember, specificity doesn't just mean training specifically for your race. It means training specifically for you and your own body (what you know it can and can't do). Getting to the start line and living to fight another day is so much more important. Now go out there and find the joy.
