Homemade Tomato Sauce & Red Salsa | Canning Our Food for Winter
Tomato processing is a much awaited event for us, from starting the seeds inside the cabin in early spring, to planting starts in the high tunnel, and finally harvesting the fruit to ripen back inside the cabin during the fall months. With snow falling and the wood stove cooking we make our annual tomato sauce and were lucky enough to have an excellent tomato yield to be able to make homemade salsa for this winter too.
