Sennheiser G2, G3 Settings For Direct to Canon DSLR (60D) Clean Audio

See the links below or visit http://thepodcastersstudio.com/gear for a list of all gear used in this video.

The key to getting clean, noise free (hiss) audio recorded into a DSLR is to remove the camera's pre-amp as much as possible from the recording chain.

Pre-amps on Canon DSLR's can create a significant amount of noise in your audio when you have to set the levels high enough to get useable levels from whatever microphone you are using.

If you are using a microphone which has the ability to set it's own gain, you are much more likely to be able to lower the DSLR's gain and replace it with the mic's for cleaner audio.

In this video I'm using a wireless Sennheiser EW 100 G2 system to send audio into a Canon 60D. I show you how to setup both the Sennheiser and the 60D to create the cleanest audio possible.

In this setup, you'll be able to use the gain on the G2 wireless transmitter and receiver to replace the gain on the DSLR.
