Whites 5900 Metal detector how to repair troubleshoot fix by D-lab

The classic Whites 5900Di detector. A favorite and highly collectible machine. I was very happy to come across one that was super clean. Problem was, it did not work. I decided to dive in with both feet. Turned out to be an easy repair. Now it really operates well. I like it better than my Garrett GTI-2500 Treasure Vision. For a vintage detector, this one has great features and is very accurate.
