Tiger Woods 2000 | Youngest Ever Major Grand Slam Champion | Record Breakers
Ever since Tiger Woods burst onto the major golf scene he showed unmatched class and talent whenever he stepped onto the course.
He quickly became one of the top rated golfers in the world and by The Open Championship in 2000 he had already won three major events; the 1997 Masters, 1999 PGA Championship and 2000 U.S Open.
The 129th Open was the opportunity for the American to secure the major grand-slam at the age of 24!
This victory would also lead to Woods becoming the only man in history to hold all four majors at the same time, later known as the “Tiger Slam”, when he went on to win The Masters in 2001.
Fans in attendance knew the importance and magnitude of Tiger’s weekend at St Andrews and were treated to a piece of timeless golfing history.
Woods won the Claret Jug in impressive fashion, winning his first Open eight strokes ahead of runners-up Thomas Bjorn and Ernie Els.
This historic victory set a new record for the youngest ever grand slam Champion.
