Mystery Water Source On the Tiny House Homestead #Shorts

This cistern was buried on the property when I bought it. I've seen it empty, and I've seen it filled to the brim, but I have never filled it. It is not connected to our well in any way, and it is several feet higher than the drainage ditch next to the road. I have no idea how it fills up! #Shorts

We do get some snow on the property during the winter, but I'm not sure how it would be filling it up like that.

The tank has some sort of oily residue inside it which can be seen floating on top of the water. I'll need to figure out what is causing that as well.
