Orangutans in Tanjung Puting National Park - Kalimantan - Indonesia

In the UNESCO designated Tanjung Puting National Park, established by the Dutch colonial government, live about 6000 orangutans today. In this video we see them swinging through the trees and eating. The orangutan mother with baby twins is especially cute.

Palm oil plantations heavily affected the ecosystem and the park remains threatened by illegal logging, illegal mining, and forest clearing for agricultural uses.

More video clips about monkeys can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLMYlw_C7EP8JWSQGc9QW2iN-R_hV26k2t.

We visited Indonesia on the overland trip from Australia to the Netherlands; see our channel https://www.youtube.com/user/JanvanBekkum for hundreds of clips.

Music: "Modern Jazz Samba" and "Carpe Diem" performed by Kevin MacLeod (www.incompetech.com).
