Portable Email Using Winlink and Ham Radio Handheld

Are you ready to try Portable Email using Ham Radio?

In this video I will show up the equipment and software you will need to do Portable Email with Ham Radio Winlink using Portable Ham Radio or your Ham Radio handheld.

Tigertronics Signalink USB
BTECH UV-5X3
Yaesu FT-857D
Acer One 10 Windows Tablet

Software using in the video was the following:

UZ7HO SoundModem
Winlink Express

In the video you will see what settings you need to connect your Signalink to the SoundModem Software. The the settings you need to connect the SoundModem to Winlink.

You will see how to send a Winlink Message and a Winlink Peer-to-Peer Message.

Also I will show how to setup your BTECH Handheld and the settings on the Signalink to get the best results. The same information will work with any ham radio handheld.

I also talk about why you would use Portable Email.

Always remember to start your SoundModem software first and then start Winlink. If you start Winlink first it doesn't know which modem to use and will not make the connection.
