小型無人機（ドローン）などで撮影した高解像度の自然景観を動画投稿サイトYouTubeに配信している茅野市在住の映像クリエイターYatsugatake21_4K_Japanさんが、厳冬期の霧ケ峰高原（諏訪市）で2019年2月に撮影した４Ｋ映像「ダイヤモンドダスト　厳冬の霧ケ峰高原」を12月1日から一般公開する。「コロナ禍の世界に自然映像で『希望の光』を届けたい」としている。

Yatsugatake21_4K_Japanさんは、2003年から地域の自然をテーマに映像制作を始め、YouTubeに投稿している。19年には、四季折々の美しい自然景観を４Ｋの高解像度で表現した作品「八ケ岳の四季」で、第１回ドローン空撮コンテスト”VIVA Drone Award” で最高賞を受賞した。

公開する映像は10分26秒に編集した「クリスマスバージョン」。無数のダイヤモンドダストが日の出とともに金色に輝き、霧氷のカラマツ林の前でサンピラー（太陽柱）となっている貴重な映像や、刻々と変わる色の移り変わりが楽しめる。ダイヤモンドダストが北海道以外で好条件で撮影できる場所は「本州では霧ケ峰くらい」という。

映像公開は、登録者の「コロナで不安になっている世界中の人に美しい映像を見せて、心穏やか優しい気持ちにして、皆に希望の光が見えるようにして」という言葉に後押しされた。登録者は５月から急増し、年内にも５万人に到達する見込みという。Yatsugatake21_4K_Japanさんは「自然映像にこれほどの反響があるとは思わなかった。（映像公開で）希望の光を届けることができれば」と話している。

　厳冬期の八ヶ岳山麓では北海道の内陸に近い気候になり、空気中の水蒸気が細氷となってダイヤモンドダストが発生します。撮影は2018年2月1日 午前7時20分から7時50分、場所は長野県諏訪市霧ヶ峰高原です。天候は晴天で、現場の気温は零下13度でした。
　最初は無数のダイヤモンドダストが太陽の日の出に反射すると金色に輝きサンピラー（太陽柱）となり、時間とともに太陽が上昇し光線がが黄色から白色に変化する中でダイヤモンドダストは虹色に変化し小さくなって消滅します。
　ダイヤモンドダストの数と速さがあったのでアップ動画は2分の1スローで編集してあります。
