How To Do Eka Pada Koundinyasana 2 Pose | Flying Splits Arm Balance Tutorial
Eka Pada Koundinyasana 2 (also known as flying lizard or flying splits pose) is one of my favourite arm balances. It is considered to be more on the advanced side because of the strength and flexibility it requires, yet it is possible to start working towards this pose even as you are just starting to practice yoga and after watching this tutorial you’ll know exactly how.
Eka Pada Koundinyasana 2 is a gateway to even more advanced arm balances and inversions and in vinyasa yoga practice. Once you are comfortable with it, it can become a fun transition or just a great posture to activate the entire body at once. Whether you consider yourself a beginner or an advanced practitioner, make sure you take your time to warm up and as you are watching this tutorial pay attention to foundations and alignment as you are attempting the arm balance. Be patient with yourself (and prepare to have a full on yoga workout if you are trying it with me - this won’t be easy, but you’ll love it!)
