When installing a new clutch kit, it is vital to ensure the best flywheel surface possible for the friction disc to bed in. Therefore all single-mass flywheels that are within the tolerance for reuse should be resurfaced before installing the new clutch. This resurfacing is achieved using a flywheel grinding machine.
