Moshidi Motshegwa is a veteran South African actress of the stage, film and television who has starred in a string of local and international productions. She played the role of Florence Nxumalo in Zola Maseko’s 2004 feature film Drum with Taye Diggs, as well as starred alongside Jill Scott in The No1 Ladies Detective Agency. Motshegwa has appeared in numerous television shows including Zero Tolerance, Friends Indeed, Gaabo Motho, Flat 27, Generations, Justice For All, Joburg Blues, Behind the Badge, Ke Nnako, SOS, Hillside, The Lab and Jozi H.
She also made a guest appearance on season 10 of the American medical drama series ER. Other films she has appeared in include Hijack Stories (2000) and Critical Assignment (2004). Her first film (behind the scenes), Noem My Skollie, co-producer with David Max Brown has won 5 SAFTAs in 2017, 2 Rapid Lion awards and a host of other film festival awards. It was South Africa’s entry for Best Foreign Language Film at the 89th Academy Awards (Oscars 2017).
