Jungle Fusion began as a bold evolution of Deco feat. Riot Act, founded by Deco Jovanovic (guitar), Ben Colhoun (drums), and Aleks Radovic (bass). From the very first notes, the band fused Hendrix-inspired psychedelia, Miles Davis improvisation, and a raw alternative rock core, creating a sound that was both fearless and distinctive.
Early tracks like Confessions and Jimi Meets Miles established the foundation of a legacy defined by innovation and collaboration.
As the project evolved into Jungle Fusion, fresh energy entered with Mick Pedder on bass, shaping standout songs such as Kangaroo, Amazing Grace, Voodoo Doll, and Guru, now among the band’s most celebrated works.
Influential past members, including Chris Georgiou (drums, featured on Latifa’s recordings), whose powerful, John Bonham–inspired style brought thunderous drive and dynamic energy, added depth, texture, and creative vision to the band’s evolving sound.
The band’s most recent lineup features Gordon Gunn (bass), a masterful and expressive bassist whose bass solos sing while he plays, transforming every performance into a captivating dialogue of voice and instrument. Lachlan Wallace (drums), Melbourne’s finest jazz drummer, brings energy, precision, and inventive drive to every rhythm, while guest Mark Gardner (trumpet) adds vibrant tonal color, expanding Jungle Fusion’s sonic palette.
This lineup has been featured in The BEAT Magazine Melbourne, and garnered recognition with Deco’s nomination for the APRA AMCOS Annual Awards.

Rooted in experimentation, collaboration, and bold musical exploration, Jungle Fusion honors its psychedelic-jazz-rock origins while pushing boundaries into new sonic territory.
